Plot Summary
While on vacation in Mexico, Frank pyramids his son’s soccer team and falls in love with the coach, Maria. When she is asked to join her team on a trip to Mexico, she accepts Frank’s request to meet her at the tournament.
When they meet, Maria is immediately taken with Frank and proposes right away, but he declines as he is still involved with his wife. He passes the obligation onto their son, Nick Jr., who must play for his club team before moving on to the national team.
While attending the tournament, Maria meets up with Nick Jr. and offers to be his mom, but he turns her down flat-out. Instead of giving up until another day when she might get him a good dad, Maria decides to start dating Nick Jr.
She begins by taking him out for pizza and letting him ask her any questions about being a parent. She also promises not to leave any tough lessons behind, like notifying Frank of random responsibilities that arise during home time.
