Conflict of nations is a great way to introduce military training and tactics. By using this game like Axis and Allies, you can start building your skills quickly. You may even want to take it one level down to start, as younger players may not understand some of the more complicated parts.
Furthering the learning curve even more is creating new scenarios or changing alliances. When doing this, make sure to cover what consequences come with it.
BattleLore
BattleLore is an interesting game that challenges your coordination and strategy. It has some similarities to Axis and Allies, but Battlelore makes some major changes.
These changes include introducing dynamic terrain, assigning roles to various players, and introducing tokens. All of these add a new layer of complexity to the game.
BattleLore uses cards that are either terrain or tokens. When playing Battle Lore, you assign a role to your team members. For example, one member might be the goalkeeper, while the other members may be defenders or attackers.
