Some examples of companies that offer fairly reliable transport throughout Greece are All Nighter or Triplyadion. Both of these companies have web-based applications you can use to book your transportation.

Piracy is a real threat in some regions of the world, and can cost you a lot of money if you are unlucky. If you are traveling to Greece, then be aware of your surroundings and your abilities.
If you find yourself surrounded by pirates, don’t worry; they will not hold any threats against you. They are more interested in wealthy travelers than me, but if you look rich enough, they may come after you.
I am glad we were not overly worried about pirates in Inland Travel’s trip to Greece, because we would have been killed otherwise. We would have never learned what authentic Greek food was like or how to properly recreate it on our own!
The worst that could happen is that we were robbed and injured by a pirate.

If you are going with a large group, you can buy discounted tickets in advance which makes it more likely that you will be safe when traveling by boat.
Many travel companies offer special offers so that you can trade services or products up and get something else for your money. For example, as a tour guide you may give teachings, and as a organizer of tours you may provide transportation.
You can also learn how to recognize a pirate ship, if they are small and carry fewer passengers than expected, they may be more secure in the water.
Animal attacks
Recent news stories have focused on attacks by local animals. There has been an increase in attacks by crows, [thunder] vultures, and eagles.
