When is it?
Primetime is a live TV service available on Roku, AppleTV, and Amazon Fire TV. You can also watch it via Hulu and YouTube-if you have them-but we will discuss that later on in this article!
The feature offers you the opportunity to watch your favorite shows at their regular times, as well as catch up on the new episodes of now-famous shows such as The Bachelor, The Voice, and Grey’s Anatomy.

How does it affect me?
In return for providing service to customers in the top-selling television shows, lily ring companies are given a small fee from every ride. This fee is termed primetime revenue.
This can be a big benefit for companies, as it increases their visibility. For companies that operate in the TV industry, this can be very valuable!
For example, if a company ran a show about crime solving, then offering a ride to anyone who looks like they might be intelligent would be value-add.
Similarly, if the company was about health and fitness, offering a ride to someone who looks fit would also be valuable.
Is there a way to know what the primetime hours are?
Float your Lyft float to know when the most profitable hours are for rides and how much you can make!
Primetime is the hour before peak operating hours and during off-peak hours, meaning more rides.
Your ride will be more profitable during this time because people are looking to grab a ride at that hour to get home before bed.
To find the cut off time for primetime, look up Lyft data on a Sunday night or early Monday morning to see whether there are many riders or if rides are down during this period.
Can I change my pickup time?
Yes! You can change your pickup and dropoff times on rideshare platforms. This feature is only available on Apple and Android app for Lyft, UberEATS, and Caviar.
When you have your new pickup and dropoff times set, you can head to the Maps app on your phone to change your ride. You can also type in a different time range in which to leave your place of employment, a party or event venue, or even a wedding venue.
Can I set my ride TIMING? Yes! Once you have the choice to set a time for your ride, then you will have that choice. The driver will know that the destination is around four hours away, so they will choose an appropriate pace of travel based on how long it takes to get there.
What happens if I miss my designated pickup time?
If you have a later trip scheduled, you can call Lyft to ask if your scheduled pickup time has been changed. If so, you will need to adjust your new schedule to make sure you are on target for pickup.
If your trip is scheduled for a specific time, then no matter what, that time will be confirmed! No walk-backs or switches mid-trip, no matter how tempting.
If you have a late night or early morning trip, no worries—Lyft has some backup plans. Service will remain the same at the same hour, and on the same day!
If neither does work early morning nor does the office run late in the morning, guests can make themselves some extra sleep by doing so. 🙂

What happens if I check the app but no cars are available?
If you’re checking the app but there’s no response from a car, don’t leave yet. You can still find a ride in one of our other cities like Boston, Chicago, or San Francisco!
If a driver shows up, they can grab the car and go. This is common in prime time events like the Super Bowl or the Olympics.
Prime time events are what we call highly anticipated events because they create a spike in demand.
For example, if the 2016 Olympics were held in Los Angeles, a Super Bowl match would be a highly anticipated event.
If an event was like this, then it would be good for Lyft to create prime time events.
Can I be refunded for missing my pickup time?
Yes! After your ride is completed, you can request a refund through the passenger app or in our car. If your driver was helpful and prompt, he or she should let you know via the ride.
If your driver was late or missed an opportunity to pick you up due to Lyft’s outage, you can request a refund through the passenger app or in our car.
You can also ask for a Ride Home if you feel comfortable your driver will get back to you in a timely manner. This is important to have as some people are not comfortable calling 911 if they feel it is needed.
What else should I know about primetime on Lyft?
A term used when describing a special occasion is called a “event.” This refers to a special occasion like a show, event, or premiere that we invite someone to see.
When planning an event, it is important to remind your neighbors about the event. You can create an announcement through your Lyft account or via email, and if there are enough RSVPs, then the event does happen!
Once the event is scheduled, people need to be prepared. If people are going to wear casual clothing, they should pack casual clothes for day or night. If people are going to wear very formal clothing, they should pack at least a dress shirt and dress shoes.
Finally, people should bring their cell phones because they will be recording footage of the event and sending it to their accounts during the event.
