How does it work
In addition to playing as a running back, quarterback, and receiver, playing as a heatseeker is very similar to playing as a wide receiver in Madden 15. You start with a rerouting play and then you either go deep or go short.
The main difference is that while playing as a wide receiver in Madden 15, you could go for short or deep receptions. With the heat seeker unit, however, you can only go for medium receptions.
Short receptions gain more distance off the ball so it takes longer for your opponent to react and move out of the way. This may not be much of an issue if your offense does not do much long passes, but if your team does have some successful long passes, this may be worth it!
Because this unit does not do much on the field, it is only available when you play as a running back or heist specialist.
Uses for heatseeker
In order to use a heatseekers move in Madden 16, you must have the move created. This can be done by going to the creation kit and selecting new player type.
Once this is done, you can now use your heatseekers move. There are two main ways to use it. The first is as a running play. When an opponent is close to your heatseekers move, you can quickly rush them and get an additional step on the field or into the opponent.
The second is as a feature of a player. If a player has two different types of moves, then they can have two different looks for that player. One looks like a traditional running play type player, while the other looks more flashy and exciting with high-powered plays.
In order to use this correctly, you must know which one your player has.
Completing passes
When a player is in a good down block position, they can ‘complete’ a pass. This occurs when they put their back to an opposing player and pass into their hands.
Completing passes is a very important part of football. When done right, it can put you in good positions to score points!
There are two parts to completing passes: place and release. Place is calculated using the Pass Table, while release is determined by the target player.
The table lists some common place and release combinations: quarterback, target, under or over the goalposts, and beyond the goalposts. These are important rules to keep in mind when playing pass-based games!
When passing in Madden 16, you must be sure that your target gets the ball enough time to make a play on it.
Tips for using heatseeker
A heatseeker manoeuvre is a special move you can use to get closer to the opposing team. In order to use a heatseeker move you must firstly be able not to miss passes or kick attempts. Then, when you do hit the target, you must timed your pass or kick perfectly in order for it to land.
You can only do this once per play so if your opponent is staying put on defence then you are out of luck. However, if your opponent allowed you to get close enough before pulling back away from the line of defence, then great! You have just taken a step towards victory.
The key with using the heatseeker manoeuvres is timing them correctly. If you miss the first attempt, then you will have to start over from square one so do not rush these.
Distance between receiver and ball
When you look at the receiver Diagram in Madden 16, you see two lines, one for standing away from the line of scrimmage and one for going intob the frame. These lines describe how close your receiver has to be to the receivers in order for him or her to catch the football.
The closer a receiver is to the line of scrimmage, the further away he or she will run with the football. This is called a distance between receiver and ball.
A good distance between receiver and ball is around 15 yards. If a player runs 20 yards with the football, they are overtraining themselves and need to hold back their training until they are closer to 15 yards.
A lower number indicates a shorter distance between receiver and ball which indicates overtraining or too much runningn on training hills or during offseason workouts.
Targeting a certain spot on the field
When a player is in perfect position to do something impressive, he or she can call for help via the Heatseeker feature. This allows players to target an area on the field and get extra help from their teammates.
Using the Heatseeker feature is fairly simple: Just point at a spot on the field and three lines will appear. The first line represents your teammate, the second line represents an opponent, and the last line represents a down zone.
Your teammate must walk around that down zone with their hands out in order for them to call for help. Once they do, other players can show up to help them but only if they are in position to take advantage of the opportunity.
Targeting an area on the field is free so long as that area does not overlap another too much.
Using the right throw button for the right pass
When you are in a pass or rush move, you can press the left thumb button and right index finger on the controller simultaneously to create a heatseeker pass. This is very important!
When you do this, your avatar will smoothly slide to one side and throw a football or soccer ball in an efficient manner. You can then run or jump to try and advance the play or get your team some points.
This is very useful as it can get you some good distance but if you are not accurate, your opponent will just pick up a kick or two and still be able to advance the ball.
Understanding the down and distance
In order to create heatseeker runs in Madden 16, you must know the down and distance parameters. These are called parameters in Madden 16, and it is similar to leagues in other Madden games.
In order to create a run in heatseekers, you must know how far your player must run before you can attack him or her. You can only run as long as you want until you make your first hit, which can be up to 3 yards.
