What does the Bible say about evil doers?
There are many things the Bible teaches about evil doers. Evil doers have a lot of company when it comes to condemnation and judgment.
In the angriest of passages, the Old and New Testaments condemn wickedness and sin. The Ten Commandments prohibit wrongdoing, while the Holy Spirit prays for those who commit evil acts to be saved.
In addition to the commands in the Law and Prophets, Jesus Himself calls being evil “the wrong path” (1 Peter 5:13). He also warns that being evil will lead to hell, saying that “the whole world’s evil path will be set before them” (Mt 6:13).
Of all the things the Bible says about sin, two words stand out: guilt and condemnation. These two words together say more about what sin is than any other section of Scripture.

This is a scary message for us. We like to think of ourselves as good people who deserve good things happening to us. But if being evil makes you disappear from sight, then what’s the point of being good?
The Bible tells us that evil doers deserve to be cut off from society and God. They shouldn’t have friends or family or any sort of community relationship with others. They don’t need our help because they are “unloved” by God.

The Bible calls these people “adversity doers” (1 Thes 5:19), and it describes them as “minded [toward] evil” (2 Thes 2:3). The phrase “evil heart” appears six times in the Old Testament, and it refers to a person’s desire for evil.
In the New Testament, we find the term “evil heart” applied to those who reject the Lord. It appears five times in the Bible, and it refers to people who are focused on themselves rather than on God. They are “minded [to] destroy” (1 Pet 3:5).
Seeking the Lord through prayer is an important part of being honest with ourselves about our sins and desiring a good life of fellowship with God. We need to rely on our own efforts to change our lives, but only by making mistakes can we learn how to respond effectively to him.
