When a bus or subway station has a long wait, people tend to get restless. Even the most patient person can see the need for reliability in transport.
For people who rely on public transport every day, having a reasonable amount of experience with new rides is a good way to be reliable. If you have had one bad experience on public transport, you can trust the next person to be reliable.
Another way to be reliable in transport is to not make big plans for future trips. If you know your current location doesn’t have public transport and you know your friend isn’t coming today, then you can decide not to plan for a trip out of that place because it won’t be reliable.
Plan your trips
While the term reliable transportation has a few different meanings, we will focus on the more common meaning of the word.
This means that your trip is planned thoroughly, to the best of your ability. You are planning your trips in an amount of care and effort that is above average, but not extraordinary.
You are planning a trip to see your boyfriend, but not quite yet because you are saving for another trip. You are trying to create some stability in your finances so you can afford this new trip, so we would say that this trip is reliable.
Make sure you have enough fuel
Having enough fuel can be the most overlooked part of making sure your vehicle is reliable. While it may not seem like it when you are driving, driving and riding in a vehicle is expensive piece of equipment.
When you are traveling by vehicle, you are paying for insurance, tires, brakes, and a potentially updated safety equipment. You will also pay for storage space to put all of your equipment when it is not being used. It is similar to how much money you spend on house security and updates to those security measures, etc.
Having enough fuel can mean the difference between being able to travel and having a dependable vehicle or having to stay at an RV park or campground because you do not have a safe place to store your vehicle while traveling.
Use public transportation
Many people start using public transportation because it is reliable. You want to expect it to show up every time, be there at the right time, and be able to use it for hours on end.
Unfortunately, this reputation comes at a cost. Public transportation systems are constantly running fees, and riders have little control over when or if they will receive a reimbursement.
For example, riders who do not have a valid passport must present their national identity card as proof of residence when traveling on public transit. National ID cards cost just $1 per month, but can only be used once per month so having enough before departure is wise.
This mandatory proof of residency is meant to prevent people from abusing public transit by transferring between buses or trains without leaving their home country! It also makes it harder for people with less money to use public transit due to the fees for residency and insurance coverage.
Have a backup plan for traveling
If you are only planning one trip a year, you may be able to save money by not traveling too often. However, if you are looking to expand your life skills, travel frequently.
Traveling can cost money. Even though it may be cheap now, when you add on hotel and car rental expenses, it can become expensive. If you are not very organized in how and when you plan to travel, then you will mess up in regards to saving money.
It is important to have a plan when traveling. If you only have one or two big trips per year, you may be able to have the back-up plan of staying at a friends or at the hotel or residence where the trip is taken- however, if you need to take care of anything on that trip, then need two plans in place.
You must always have an emergency plan as well as the normal emergency plan for your yearly trips.
Stay alert while driving
Driving is one of the highest risk things that people do. You are literally putting your life in their hands when you drive. There are so many things that can go wrong and you could be seriously hurt or even killed.
Therefore, it is very important that you stay alert while driving. This includes letting your eyes look ahead, watching for traffic around you, and keeping a safe speed for travel purposes.
Watching the road can be tricky if you have to stay calm. It can be hard to stay alert if something else distracts you or if you have to quickly snap out of the effect of a driver or vehicle condition.
If you have any urgent needs while driving, get out of the car and walk! You will then be more prepared to remain calm and watchful.
Avoid distractions
