Programs can be combined into set formats such as entertainment or news with no change in content. These set formats are what make programs different from other content such as entertainment that may have no reason to be broadcast, but has a audience to market to.

Latino channels
Most people know Latino channels as ESPN, but there are many other networks with Latino content. You have Telemundo, Unimaxx, Univision, and Directv’s Galavn to name a few.
If you have a Spanish language channel on your satellite or cable TV, then you know what we are talking about. There are a ton of networks with content for all ages, from kids to adults.
Spanish channels
There are a lot of Spanish-language television channels. Most people find that hard to understand because so many of them are in different languages!
Many of them are dedicated to specific regions such as the Americas, Europe, or the world. Some are children’s channels, while others target specific genres such as news, entertainment, or investigative journalism.
Unfortunately, most people do not view Spanish-language television as a source for entertainment. Instead, it is more often considered a source for cultural information and learning.
That is why it is so rare to find a Spanish-language television channel that targets an English language program. Most times, the programming is in Spanish only! This can be very frustrating for those who know little or no Spanish.
Entertainment
Estrella TV is an entertainment focused channel. It has a lot of popular shows such as Arrow, The Flash, and Game of Thrones among others.
Unlike other channels that have entertainment focused shows, Estrella TV has actual cultural programs such as Mexican television programs and American reality television. These programs make up the cultural part of Estrella TV.
The reality program makes up the cultural part. Programs like The Voice or X-Factor find their home on Estrella TV, along with other shows you would not expect like La Reina del Bazar or Sábado Gigante de Canal 13.
These two programs are very famous in Mexico so many people watch them to learn Spanish or because it’s entertaining.
News
Estrella TV is a Spanish-language network that broadcasts from 9 p.m. to 10 p.m. ET, making it the only channel that broadcasts in early evening hours in southeastern USA and eastern Canada.
The network specializes in news programs and covers current events with a emphasis on the Latin American region. They also feature some entertainment content such as talk shows, sports programs, and documentaries.

Movies
Estrella has a wide range of movies available on their channel. You can choose to watch them all in full or just the best ones in French or Spanish.
They also have a series called My Premiere which gives you the chance to go into a store and pick out your movie for yourself. You can then watch it when it comes out on demand or cable TV.

Documentaries
Estrella TV is a popular Spanish-language broadcast network. They have a number of programming categories, including current affairs, sci-fi/fantasy, crime dramas, and medical dramas.
Estrella TV is available in most countries where Directv operates. You can sign up for a channel package with Directv via their website or via the channel package you receive.
This is very helpful as it allows people to watch past seasons of popular shows without having to pay for them each season. Many people subscribe to this service just to watch past seasons of beloved shows!
Current affairs programs look at current events and topics, while medical dramas focus on the effects of certain procedures or effects. These programs can be critical or not at authorities and institutions alike.
Foreign language
A foreign language channel is a great addition to any home. There are so many to choose from and you can decide which one you want to watch and prepare for when you get the channel.
All of the major television networks have a national channel in your area that is dedicated to foreign language television. These channels are usually more expensive than the basic American network channels, but they are worth it.
They provide additional content and tools that allow you to learn and study languages, which is a great bonus. You can also use them while watching TV as they provide subtitles, so there is no need to re-watch an episode of whatever new show you just finished watching.
These additional channels are usually around the basement level on your Directv dashboard.
Sports
Sport is one of the biggest channels on Directv. It has most major sports leagues: MLB, NFL, NBA, and Tennis.
Most people who have a Directv account can watch Sport on their account. You cannot, however, add a new sport to your account until you have a channel.
To add a new sport, go to the Account menu and click on Add A New Channel. Then select Sport from the list and enter your details. You will need to confirm your account by typing in an initial code or logging in via the website or app you will be adding it to.
