How to get a major
There are a range of ways to get a major in Destiny. Some are easier than others, and some are less permanent.
As mentioned before, you can buy it from the in-game store. However, this is more of a Limited Edition version than the standard version.
Either way, major is an excellent upgrade to your character and can make a huge difference to your play experience. A major will improve your lights and sounds, add new colouring options for aspects of your character, and add new armour pieces you can wear.
There are three different levels of major: low, standard, and hard. Low majors do not require any previous work on your part to attain. However, they do not have as many cosmetic changes or upgrades as the standard ones.
Standard majors require some work on your part but do not have as many additions or changes as the low ones.
Major runes
A major rune is a specialised upgrade to an existing equipment piece. There are six major runes in Destiny, and they function as high level upgrades for most items.
Like minor runes, major runes can be purchased in the game’s Crucible or found in the game’s player-vs-player (PVP) mode, Public Event.
In addition to being purchasable in the game, major runes are also earned through playing the campaign and completing activities such as Strike missions and patrol duties.
While six main minor runes make up the six slots of your inventory, you will only ever have one set of seven minor runes on your disc due to the loss of two redundant slots.
Major gems
A major is a larger, more complicated objective in a level. There are six major levels in Destiny, and each one contains several minor objectives that must be completed to advance.

Should I use majors?
Most players don’t start out with a major equipped. Instead, players start with a lower power weapon and get the upper hand as they improve on it.
A major is a powerful weapon that can be upgraded multiple times. Once you obtain an initial improvement, you can purchase additional upgrades through blueprints or through the market.
In order to get a major, you must first own a lower power weapon.
What are minors?
A minor is a less significant component to a game or set of games. In Destiny, there are three minor components: grinds, trophies, and raid goals.
Grinds are tasks that require you to repeatedly complete to earn points or rewards. For example, killing enemies in a certain amount of time earns you tokens, which can be spent on gear or additional activities.
The trouble with tokens is that they are never enough to fill out your inventory completely. You have to purchase more packages if you want new gear pieces or maps and chambers need to be played in order for them to add up.
Trophies are similar to grinds in that they require repeated attempts to earn. However, instead of points, these points involve achievements.
How to get a minor
There are a few high-level activities in Destiny that are too important to miss. These include finding and visiting lost items, completing the campaign, and playing with your friends.
While completing the campaign is not recommended unless you have some help, playing with your friends is a blast. Having a minor gives you access to the raids and all of the end-game content.
End-game items are very valuable and can make a big difference when it comes to power leveling. If you are missing some of the higher level armors or weapons, going into debt might be your only choice!
A minor will not give you any new armor or weapons, it just allows you to take part in one of Destiny’s three raids.
