Blades holders

If your Toro Groundmaster has disc-style blades, then you should look into replacing the blades holders. These parts can be costly if you need to replace them often.
Replace them at around year five of use! If you typically use it less than that, then buy a new part as it will last a few more years. Buying new at year five is better quality parts as they will last longer due to good manufacturing standards.
By having these parts on hand, you will have them quickly! Just make sure you get the right ones for your deck because there are different blade styles.
Brake band
When mowing over plants or thick bushes, a belt-type brake system can help keep the machine from bogging down. These systems use a band that wraps around the pulley and is attached with a pin.
This pin must be removed before installing the new band. Once it is in, you can start using your machine!
Pin-type brake systems require you to clean and replace the pins every few months to keep them from breaking. Save yourself the trouble and buy a brand new pin every time you need to replace it!
The pin that holds the belt on can sometimes come off.
Brake disk
The brake disk is an integral part of the mower deck. When the brake disk is removed, it can be replaced with a new one. The disk has a marked ring around the center that contains the brake motor.
When replacing the disk, be sure to place new disk in same position as old one to ensure proper engagement. It may also be necessary to check that the blades are free to move when installing new disk.
To check if new disk is in place correctly, check that there is no gap between it and mower blade housing. If all of these steps are done correctly, then the mower should work properly again!
Using a sharp knife or scissors, cut a small piece of cardboard just enough length of new disk to fit inside newly cut mowing deck. Place self-locking tread onmold on board and push down until both disks are fully engaged and cut offing comes out.
Discharge deflector
When mowing tall grass, the discharge deflector may become damaged. This may prevent the mower from removing enough grass to ensure proper Lawn Heights.
To confirm whether or not the discharge deflector has been damaged, look for white marks on it. If you see these, then it has been damaged, make sure to get new ones.
If you still need to replace the deflector, it may be easier to purchase one that is double-doweled together instead of soldered. This way, it can be easily replaced without needing to completely disassemble the mower.

High-speed gear box oil

Transmission oil
When mowing a high grass area, it is important to keep the transmission oil topped off. The transmission travels the blades through the oil to ensure smooth, consistent cut quality.

Like all exterior parts of a mower, transmission oil must be kept clean and properly applied. Regularly check the oil level and add some if necessary. Make sure to keep the engine run-down preventative topped off as well.
Like all engine preventative products, Toros make their own out of common ingredients that do not cost much but help protect your motor from wear and tear. Just like with any machine, you have to take care of it when it is in use to prevent excessive damage.
