The Samsung Gear 2 is another addition to the line of smartwatches built by Samsung. This watch features a rotating bezel and a display that can be viewed either upside down or sideways.
Unlike its predecessor, the Gear 2 Pro, this new model does not have a GPS tracker. It also lacks the heart rate monitor and other monitoring sensors found on its predecessor. However, these features are still supported via compatible sensors.
The Gear 2 is currently only available for purchase through Samsung’s website or through major retailers like Amazon. This makes it a limited release device as most smartwatches continue to evolve and gain new features.

Change watch faces
Changing faces is easy. Just go to the watch face selection screen and select a new one!
However, there are a few tricks to making the most out of your Gear 2. Do not be afraid to try out new faces if you like them, as many have more features than the standard watch face.
Some features that are missing from the standard watch face is message notifications, which is why you can addringtonewwatchface.com instead of full on Android Wear apps. Also, none of my apps were able to display in a circular fashion so I had to remove that as a feature.
Use the rotate button
You may not know that there is a rotate button on the Gear 2. You can turn the device 180 degrees by pressing and holding the screen for a few seconds. This can be useful when you want to put the device in a different position or use it while sitting or lying down.
Used frequently, this feature can be a life-saver! When placed in the correct position, the Gear 2 will rotate until it is upright. This is very helpful when trying to get a pregnant partner to come out of her dark place or trying to get some relief during sex.
When using the rotate button, be careful not to press too hard or it may not work.
Select text
When you want to reply to an email or chat message, you can select text and send it. You can also reply directly from your phone!
This feature works the same on your phone as a computer. You first have to enter the recipient’s email or chat ID and then send it!
Once you do this, they will receive a reply on their device as if they sent it themselves. You can test this by responding to someone’s reply on your device and seeing that it goes through as if they sent it themselves.
This feature works for both sending and receiving messages on your phone.
Use the speaker
Most devices have a small speaker built into the device itself, however, this speaker is only capable of playing sound in the form of music or audio.
Using the Gear 2 voice command is an easy way to use the speaker. Just say What’s playing? and the Gear 2 will play whatever music or audio you are looking at oring. It works great!
You can also use the microphone on the Gear 2 to make calls, check your email, or even answer calls. Try it out!
The biggest tip here is to use enough sound. Many devices cut off parts of speech that were not heard due to lack of volume.
Do not disturb mode
In do not disturb mode, you can not be distracted by notifications or messages. You can still answer or end a conversation, you can also put away your phone and relax!
This feature is a big plus when using Samsung devices such as the Gear 2. With the ability to completely disengage yourself while a notification or message is present, you are much more inclined to take action and respond.
This feature can be turned off in the settings, making this a perfect feature to add at night when you want to totally relax.
The other two features of the Gear 2 that are worth mentioning are automatically turning down the volume and locking the screen when finished viewing an app. These two features work in conjunction with another app on your phone, which is linked to them via Bluetooth.
Personalize your watch face
When your Samsung Gear 2 watch is new, you can customize its look by downloading and installing watch faces from Samsung’s website. You can also create your own faces using online creation tools.
As the battery life of your watch lasts longer, some of the face features you would want to have on your watch face are removed. Therefore, it is important to download the correct version of the watch face for your model once it is installed.
Some popular features users add are weather or sports features, night time settings, and a cute or fun icon instead of their normal device display.
Customize notification settings
Changing notification settings is a fun way to learn more about Samsung’s Gear 2 device. Did you know that you can set the color of your notifications and receive alerts in a new mode?
By making a few minor adjustments to your Gear 2 device’s settings, you can turn off all but the most important notifications. This is an awesome way to get through the day and learn more about your friend or friend’s lives.
To change notification settings on your device, go to My Symmetra | Settings | Display & Media | Notification Color. Here you can set what color notifications look like, as well as whether they are silent or not.
Another tip: If you find that the Gear 2 is getting somewhat hot while it is being worn, try putting it in an empty wallet or carrying case to keep it cooler.
Adjust control settings
When you have the Samsung Gear 2, you can now customize its controls to your heart’s content. You can make them bigger, smaller, lassoed or otherwise adjusted to your liking.
