High carbon steel

Neonatal alloy was developed so that welders could use it as a substitute for standard bronze-based welding electrodes. Because of this, there are many brands of neonatal alloy weilding.
Analyses show it to have an average carbon content of 7%, plus or minus 2%, and an average nickel content of 5%. These elements make up the replacement for the typical steel element.
Because of its slight variations in carbon, 8% may be the limit to how low you can cut with neonatal alloy. Also, since 6% nickel is an enemy to any metal, you must use correct cutting technique for it.
Alloy steel
