How To Reset Samsung Gear S2

Samsung Gear S2 is a smartwatch series from Samsung. The first series was released in 2014 and featured a rotating bezel, called Gear Aton. In 2015, another model, called Gear Classic was released, this time with a fixed bezel.

Both of these models were very popular due to their sleekness and/or lack of bezel. Since then, Samsung has released more models in the series with varying degrees of wearability.

All of the watches have an ecosystem built into them, allowing you to download applications and connect with devices via Wi-Fi or Bluetooth. You can also use the device without any external apps, however!

This article will talk about how to reset your Samsung Gear S2 device.

If your Samsung Gear S2 has an internal battery, you can safely remove it by gently pulling on the bottom of the case around the magnetic button. You can then drop in a charged up battery and enjoy a new experience with your device!

Wait a few minutes until phone is off, then re-insert to charge and confirm. If your phone has an external battery, you will need to purchase the correct size for your device.

If you have any saved notifications or reminders for your account, you will need to add them again. You can do this by entering your Samsung Account email address and adding new records.

Re-install latest software update

If you installed the latest software update on your gear s2, do not forget to re-install it. Otherwise, your Samsung Gear S2 will get stuck in software update mode.

To do this, go to the main menu and select System > Software Update. You will then be prompted to allow Samsung a moment to install the update. Once this is done, turn your gear s2 on and log into your account using the app or computer via the app.

Now that it is up and running, you can move forward with confidence that anything new was updated for you.

Connect to Wi-Fi

Once your Samsung Gear S2 is synced with your phone, you’re ready to test out some of the new features. First, make sure you’re not in a restricted area before attempting to use the phone outside of your home or office.

Now that your phone is synced up, go to MySamsungGear2.com or Samsung’s app on your phone to set up a new account. From there, link the new account to your new Samsung Gear S2. You’re all set!

Now that the device is linked up, head into its settings and find “reset mode” and “quit reset mode.

Make sure smartphone is near your smartwatch

If your Samsung Gear S2 does not have a button to pause or turn the device on or off, then you can still reset it. You can do this by making sure the device is nearby your wrist and then pressing and holding the bottom-side of the device for about a half second until you see an option to cancel.

Launch Samsung Gear app on your smartphone

In the Samsung Gear app, you can find various settings and configurations for your gear S2. One of the most important ones is Location Services. This setting determines if your device will use your GPS or not.

By changing this setting to On, your S2 will use its GPS even when it is not connected to a notifications or alerts app. You can then easily turn off the GPS by switching it to an offline mode or Disabled.

The other important settings are Sound & Display, where you can fix issues such as sound quality and contrast. Last, you can fix issues such as battery life and charge leaks on your gear S2.

Go to Settings > About gear> Reset all data

Once you do this, your Gear S2 will be unable to sync or access accounts on Samsung devices. You will also have to set it up again as a new device.

This can be tricky if you have a different carrier or user account connected to your Gear S2. You will need to re-setup everything!

To help with this, consider having a separate Google account connected to your Gear S2 and using that instead of the default Samsung account. This way you would set up the new device with the right settings and data.

Now that your Samsung Gear S2 is reset, go ahead and start enjoying some new features! Here are some tips to help you get started.

Remove battery and re-insert

When the Gear S2 has stopped working, it is important to remove the battery and re-insert the charger to bring it back to life.

If you haven’t done so yet, then take out the battery and put it back in by sliding the case back on top of the charging base.

Additionally, charge the device once again until it shows a green light. This time, leave it alone, as you will need to do this again soon.

Now that your Gear S2 is fully charged, try turning on the device and having a chat with it.
