Using a portable air conditioner is a great way to save money by not spending money on a traditional AC unit. Instead, you are able to put this cooling tool in your room and running it every few days gives you sufficient cooled air.

Pull out the plug
If the air conditioner is not cooling your room or home well, then you need to pull out the plug.
Either through a wall outlet or from a portable unit, the air conditioner has a power source. This is why it needs to be connected to your home’s AC system for it to work.
When turning on the unit, make sure that the gap between the wires is large enough so that there is no risk of being cut. If there is a power cord, then cut that as well!

Press and hold the on/off button
Once your air conditioner has cooled down, it needs to be reset. To do this, hold the on/off button for about five seconds and then let go of the button.

While holding the on/off button, press the cool button twice

This is due to its small battery that needs to be maintained. If you remove it while running, then later when you want to use it, you have to charge it again!
How to do this easily: Take off the cover by pulling up on the tabs at the bottom of the unit. Then, lift up the unit and remove the four screws underneath. Next, carefully pull up on the unit out of its housing to reset it.

If your portable air conditioner breaks and you do not want to pay for another one, then you should do the following after taking out the batteries.
Open the window a little bit so that some cool air can come in to reset the unit. This will take about a minute or two, depending on how fast you open and close the windows.
Re-set the unit by putting in new batteries and having them charge for about an hour before use. This will take a few tries, but eventually you will get it right. Once you do, you will be able to manually set the temperature and turn on/off the unit!
