Place the tube top on your waist and mark where the skirt needs to be cut
Now, cut a line just below the top of the tube top where it meets the bottom of the skirt. This is where the tube top will be placed when you wear it.
Make sure to leave a little extra material at the bottom of your cut line to allow for some wiggle room when pulling on the skirt.
Line up your two pieces and sew them closed!
Now, grab some safety pins and thread them through both pieces so they are secure. Now, pull one side of the safety-pin-through-the-materials leg up and away from you and then repeat with the other leg so they are pulled up in the same manner.
Cut out the skirt section and sew it back together using a zigzag stitch
If you decide to make your skirt non-existent at the bottom, you have two ways to make your skirt. You can cut out the entire length of the fabric, or you can sew the top and bottom together using a zigzag stitch. This allows you to now add or remove excess fabric, or add other details such as a bandanna or handkerchief to match the color of your broomstick.
Either way, these are very popular styles for women to create. A scalloped edge is used in many of these designs, adding more detail to your skirt.
If you choose to add this part back in, it is recommended that you use a thicker thread so that it does not break when moving around with the machine.
