Conference calling is a useful way to communicate in a group setting. There are many ways to do conference calling, either by using a call back service such as Vonage, or by using the Quick Conference feature on Skype.
While both of these features work for call forwarding, they are still beneficial when used together. When one member of the group picks up the phone, they can begin a conversation with another member of the group while the rest of the group continues their conversation with an answerphone or just plain old phone.
This is very useful for confidence building and communication. It also allows you to be more efficient as you can take your time to answer calls and concentrate on the conversation at hand.

Who can participate in a conference call?
You can participate in a conference call with Facetime. You can be on the same phone or on a different phone that’s connected to the same device.
As long as you have an active app on your phone or tablet, you can join a conference call with Facetime. You can also connect multiple phones and tablets to one app to join a conference call.
The main difference between joining a regular phone call and a Facetime call is that when you speak, you must use your real name whereas in Facetime, you can just choose a username and password to access.
When joining a regular phone call, the person who picks up the line-of-communication (LOCATION) must be at the same location as the person who answers the phone so that they can listen in.
What about FaceTime?
If you have a iPhone or an iPad, then you can make a FaceTime call with your spouse or partner even if they are not on the same phone line.
This feature is called FaceTime Conferencing and it works just like a regular phone call. You can talk to your Partner as if they were talking to someone else in the room.
FaceTime Conferencing is great for when you want to be able to keep an eye on your child, but do not want to use the children’s phone. You can also use it when you want to keep an eye on the kids while they are away, but do not want to have to worry about them answering their phones while you are talking!
How To Use It: Once your iPhone or iPad has FaceTime Conferencing installed, you can then start using it. Just click the grey button next to your current device and then click on ‘Conference Call’.
Can I use FaceTime for a conference call?
Yes you can! While not offered at launch, FaceTime does have a conference call function. You can switch between a group chat and a call with your contacts just by hitting the talk or summon button on your phone.
This is excellent for business calls as you can include your contact’s details and then ask if they want to go into a conversation or call with you. This makes it much easier to gather information and get someone on the line.
Once you are connected, you can then start a conference call or go into a conference mode. You can even switch between using an audio connection machine (AAM) and an AVO (voice over internet protocol) when using Wi-Fi or regular cellular data, just like on your computer.
You do not need to use Skype to connect to the FaceTime system, it works through its built in software.
What is FaceTime?
A feature of most modern smartphones is a facetime or talk-to-text service. This lets you use your phone as a speaker and/or keyboard to connect with someone else via the internet.
facetime is a way to connect your phone to a device called a “facilitator”. The facilitator connects to the internet using an app, like FaceTime, to establish the connection.
By using facetime, you can call another person and ask them to call you back via their device that is connected to the facilitator. You can then talk to each other!
How Does It Work?
The way facetime works is by connecting your phone to a facilitator device. The facilitator then connects your phone to an app that establishes a connection between your phones. This app is called “FaceTime”.
This app requires you to have an account with facebook, which you can get at www.facebook.com.
How do I set up a conference call?
First, you need to set up your phone to be able to connect to a conference call. This can be done via the phone app, via the call app on your computer, or via the conference call app on your phone.
Once you do this, you can then dial in and start speaking!
Now that you are connected, you can join another call if you so desire. The main difference between a conference call and calling into an answering machine is that when joining a new call, you cannot just leave right away. You must wait for everyone else to answer first and accept the other person’s invitation to join the call.
How much time it takes depends on how many people are on the line at once.
Do I need equipment for a conference call?
No, you do not need any kind of equipment to use Facetime on your phone. You can simply press the Talk or Talk Back button and a normal voice-activated call will result.
You will need a device or computer to conduct a conference call using Facetime however. You can use your phone as the device or computer for the call.
The best devices for conduct a conference call using Facetime are Apple’s i Phone, Android Phones, and Computers with a Voice Command app installed.
The feature works great! You will simply say something and then your friend can say something back!
Do not buy a special edition iPhone or iPad if you do not want to use it on the go. Many people find that they do not want to take their phones with them when they buy these new devices.
Who can join my conference call?
You can join a conference call with anyone with Facetime, so long as they are also using it. You can look up other people’s faces and see if they are on a phone or computer or even in the same room as you!
You can tap their names to go into their menus and enter them as a guest. You can also send them an email address, so they can sign in to the app and join the conference call.
Once you do this, you both have to set up your voicemail settings and greetings, then send it out! You can also leave messages for people if you do not want to take the time to message them on Facetime.

What are the drawbacks of a conference call?
There are some major drawbacks to a conference call. First, when one person talks, the other person has to listen! Since both people are listening, their ears have to be engaged in order for their voices to be heard.
Second, when two people talk, one person is always taking questions and the other person must answer or leave. This can be awkward or problematic.
Third, when one person answers a question and then hands the phone to someone else who answers a different question, the first person gets interrupted by the second person’s response. This can be very annoying and/or inappropriate.
Conference calls are not best for meeting with your clients or finding solutions to problems happening in your business. They are also not best for creating urgent calls (i.e., right before an important meeting) due to scheduling conflicts or obstacles that arise during the conference call.
