Sex chromosomes
There are two kinds of sex chromosomes, called y and x. The y chromosome is responsible for determining the sex of an organism, while the x chromosome does not play a role in development but only in determining which individual is male or female.

The y chromosome is attached to the male 19th chromosome, called the ychromosome. It makes up about 5% of a woman’s total DNA and cannot be spread through sexual intercourse or blood transfusion.
It is present in almost every human cell and controls many gene products, including those that control eye development and blood clotting. This means that an absence of the ychromosome may result in an anemone-like shape to the eye instead of a round one.
As this happens rarely, it is still important to check if a man has an absence of the ychromosome to prevent some medical conditions such as klinefelter syndrome.

The y chromosome is a separate piece of DNA that sits in the middle of the two main chromosomes. When a baby is still developing, the y chromosome helps determine its sex.

If you have a higher than average chance of having an XX sex, you are more likely to have a male baby. If you had a higher than average chance of having an XY baby, you would get an abortion more often.
Government officials are concerned that if there was such a high chance of having an XX baby, more people would seek abortions. There also may be concerns about whether having an extra chromo bone in your X bone increases the risk of cancer or other health issues.
However, if you had an abortion because of the possibility of having an XX Chromosome beanbone, then you could claim back some funds from government for your care because of your insurance coverage for abortions.
What about culture and society?
There are more than one kind of Chromosome 1 and 2. They are called y and d, respectively. d is the rarer of the two.
Y Chromosome-bearing women make up less than 5% of the population. However, they make up nearly half of Baton Rouge, Louisiana!
As their name would suggest, Y Chromosome-bearing women have a Y chromosome. Women with an extra Y chromosome are referred to as extra-cyndrical women.
Traditionally, extra-cyndrical women wore a ring on one hand to support the assumption that she had an extra Y chromosome on her finger.
