Do I need equipment?
Not unless you want to! Most people have nothing more than a T-shirt or sweatshirt and you are ready to go! There is no equipment needed except your own body and mind.
Many people find boot camp classes at studios or fitness facilities. Most of these places have a U-shaped table with a chair and metal bar for your legs. You can rent space for your computer set up here as well.
You can also do this at home by setting up a lap pool, air hammock, or some other water workout. Or if you have an exercise equipment set up at home, you can do this on it!
Many people find the discipline and motivation the class provides.
What should I expect?
In a fit body boot camp class, your instructor will ask you to walk their course with them. This is so you can get a complete circuit of the class and see how they work the muscles.
Your instructor will then help you get started and tell you what exercises you should be doing. When they tell you to do a particular exercise, let yourself go. You are doing your body a favor by going on this workout.
You should feel some firmness in your muscles as you go on, so your coach knows they were working. Your coach will say when you are finished, or when they think it is time to stop. Then we can talk about how much progress we made!
This is how long the class can be though. It depends on who wants to do what and how hard they want to work! Some people need more time, and some don’t feel like they have enough time during these classes.
How hard is it?
The main goal of boot camp is to improve your overall health and fitness. This can be done in a few different ways. You can go to a hard-core boot camp, where they emphasize weightlifting and/or cardio exercises; or you can go to a less rigorous boot camp, where there are fewer exercises but still health benefits are maintained.
Both styles of boot camp have the goal of getting your body into a state of physiological balance. When this balance is achieved, health benefits such as reduced risk for chronic diseases and improved quality of life are retained.
There are many ways to go on a hard-core bootcamp. You must come prepared with ample time set aside for each exercise. You must know the names of the exercises so that you can do them at home! It can be tough to do all the workouts on your own, which is one of the reasons why there are always groups organized!
Hard-core camps offer more experienced athletes a place to develop their skills and work on their specific areas of strength and mobility.
Will I get results?
Most people think boot camp is a pretty intense way to exercise. This is not a style week, this is a result week! You are going to work hard and stay focused for this!
At Austin Fit Body Boot Camp, we know that results are what make boot camp so addicting. We want you to leave our studio with your head high and a smile on your face! So we make sure we push our clients hard, keep the motivation high, and give you plenty of breaks between sessions.
That’s why it can take so long to see results. It takes time to build your strength and endurance levels. And it can be extremely frustrating when you don’t see any results fast.
But don’t worry! Your body will get stronger and healthier in little time! It just might take some time depending on your level of fitness.
