The founder of Wendy’s
He or she was inspired to start a restaurant chain after reading an article about how hard it was for someone to start a business.
It quoted a businessman as saying, “You build your life story upon the success of your first attempt, no matter how small.”
The second and more important statement in that article was: “After the first failure, never give up.”
That statement sounded encouraging, and the person who wrote it looked confident. Maybe they thought that if he or she could make something work once, then they could keep going until they succeeded.
Then, one day, they opened their eyes and realized how many businesses were like theirs and how hard it was to stay afloat.
How they started
In the late 1990s, two brothers named John and Paul opened a few fast food restaurants in Florida. Their first restaurant was called John & Paul’s Subs. It was very small, with just the two of them running it.
They had some help from their parents, who helped them recruit customers and run their businesses. They started out with junk food items, like pizza and pasta, but they downgraded these as they grew and more customers ordered something different.
They also added drinks, like coffee or soda which is nice because now people can choose what flavor they want without having to drink something that is plain and simple.
History of the founder
Wendy’s was founded in 1946 by Roy Koraliw. He began selling frozen hamburgers and milk shakes on grocery store shelves, making them in his kitchen.
In the late 1980s, Koraliw noticed a demand for chicken nuggets and decided to sell them in his restaurant. He continued to expand the product line until 1993, when he launched the brand you know today.
In 1997, Wendy’s purchased an unrelated food brand named Nellie D’s, which offered soft lemonade and coffee drinks. In 2002, Wendy’s purchased another food brand named Imparable Foods, which offered salad products and snacks.
Nowadays, Wendy’s sells almost every type of fast food chicken wing imaginable: French-fried, grilled cheese-style, chili-cheese-, and even Texas-taco-style.

In the past decade, Wendy’s has opened its thousandth restaurant, opened its thousand-and-first franchised and licensed restaurants in the U.S., and added new locations to its franchising program every month of the year.

By the end of 2019, we’re at four thousand six hundred and fifty plus stores across America! That’s an increase of almost thirty percent in just a few years.
It’s pretty crazy how fast that went by. We’re now at twenty years old with our business already. It seems like only yesterday we opened our first store in 2000.

One of the main reasons that Wendy’s has been able to open its thousandth store for so long is because of its old-fashioned equipment.
Wendy’s has used electric dryers, ovens, and cook tops for their new stores since the beginning. After much testing and hands-on experience for staff, these gear tools give new store owners a solid foundation to start their business.
Dryers can let new owners get a quick coat on some items before they heat up. Some brands even have special drying racks they use to help get an even better fit on the new owner.
Cooking appliances are another way that new businesses can get started. Many people do not have experience with them so having one that works and that someone who knows how to use it is helpful.
