Go shopping
There are so many places in Miami Beach that you do not need to go to when it rains. There are multiple shopping districts, streets with restaurants and bars, and even boat tours that take you to these locations.
The central business district is home to several large high-rise structures, making it a popular shopping district. There are many high-end stores and boutiques as well as trendy clothing stores.
There are also several boat tours that take you to these locations so you can shop in style. If you are looking for some serious shopping, head down South Pointe or Aloft at the Central Business District!
If your plan is to really relax and enjoy the rain at a distance, go out on the beach or on a boat tour. Both of those activities allow you away from the water, so you can still enjoy being on land.

Play on your phone
This is a very familiar sight in Miami- players are usually glued to their phones or phones in hand while they enjoy the water or just hang out outdoors.
The Keeping up with the Kardashians-obsessed have them already, but these water parks and recreation centers offer a nice break from the usual activities in town.
Many of them have phone and internet access, so you can stay connected while you enjoy your time at the water park. Some even have workout equipment or Aquazalto- an underwater amusement park type experience where you swim through tunnels and around platforms.
Read a book
While many consider reading a fun activity, doing so when the weather turns bad is even more welcome. If you enjoy reading, you can attend a book tour or two, and make your way to a bookstore.
The library also has several bookstores that sell both new and used books. While these are not free, they are very helpful in keeping the bookshelf stocked and providing social interaction.
Bookstores are also great places to find new books, whether current or non-fiction. Since they often have longer waits for service, it is better to go before the book is released!
Their employees at bookstores can be very helpful when seeking out new titles, as they will often ask people on the street for recommendations.
Call your friends
Even though it is raining, call your friends to let them know you are safe. They may be worried about you too!
Call a taxi or a car service to get you to your destination because taxis and cars services are always available in Miami.
If you do not have a phone, buy a prepaid cell phone which can be used anywhere. If you have very good reception, they will allow you to use it in the hotel room. If not, buy a device that can be transferred between people using an app.
If possible, go inside the hotels where there is high reception as some do send people out into the rain to check for you.
Watch TV
You can do this! There are so many TV shows you can watch in Miami that are in the rain!
Many of them are broadcast through cable or satellite companies, so you just need to find the one that is on. If there is a broadcast channel with weather on it, then that is a good choice!
Some of the TV shows have delayed broadcasts, so make sure you have access to those as well. Having somelectic entertainment while wet and miserable is what we want!
Party animals go get out your rain pants and boots and join the rest of the world for an afternoon of raining! Maybe invite some friends over to watch with you since it looks like it will be a stormy day.
Go outside and play soccer or volleyball
Both soccer and volleyball are fun ways to keep warm in the rain. Go to a club or school and see if you can be the team captain!
If you prefer rugby or basketball then you can go to a game or class. Both games are very popular and they are very hot weather long distance games.
If you can manage the water sports like waterskiing or windsurfing then do it! These things are cool to watch and get wet for!
If you can stay dry at home then start doing some household cleanup tasks that require water.
Make a cake
When the weather gets cold, what do you do? You make a cake! There are scores of recipes online and in cookbooks that transform watermelon into a cake. You can get creative and make one with bananas instead of watermelon.
Or you can go with what is usually offered as the top layer of the cake-the bottom tier may be plain sugar or vanilla pancakes. These can be fun to make and CONFIGURATE to your style.
You can also go with an eclair or two or three, if you are fancy. An amarena may be a soft, buttery vanilla pancake covered in red agave nectar and coconut oil. An apple pancake may look almost white because of the way the material is constructed, but it must be fluffy enough to withstand the batter weight.
