Oil
Another kind of paint that is great for hydro dipping is asphalt. It can be painted on or poured onto your area. When poured, it becomes a liquid that can be applied easily.
Asphalt works well for hydro dipping as it does not change the color of water, making it easier to find and apply the paint. It also does not require a primer to install as it is poured directly onto the surface.
Many paints are formulated to last longer than others, so look into which ones are longest in duration and cost. Many cheaper paints do not last as long as those with higher pricings, so be aware of this!
Lastly, some oils can be blended into other oils to create new paint colors.
Watercolor
Another great way to use hydro dipping is to mix the paint and add texture. This is very possible but before you do, think about what texture you want!

Shellac
Another alternative paint is shellac. This harder paint can be mixed as a liquid or paste and applied to the same way ordinary paint can.
Like regular paint, it can be colored, so try mixing some white or cream with your previous shades! Due to its texture, this paint may require a different application method than other paints.
However, due to its liquid nature, this paint may require a surface to be dried thoroughly before applying. This is due to the possibility of it dripping onto other surfaces while painting.

Copperplate oil paint

This way, when you take your paint and put it in a vase or bowl and add some water, it will soak up some of the moisture from the paint and create an amazing rich color. Same with amped Paint. When they are dry, pick them back up and see how much changed color!
If you wanted to change the texture of the paint, you could do something similar to Amphora Paint. You would first have to put some thick dust on top of the canvas so it gets thickened up a little bit. Then you could dip into the painted area to get an ink like effect.

Some paints require a different mix of paint and water to dip. A water-based paint such as Sherwin-Williams Touch-A-Dop or painter’s touch will not require a mixed solution of paint and water to dip.
If you need to use a thicker paint or need more coverage, try using an aerosol painted product such as Testor’s Quick Dip or Anchiaral Paint Effects. Either one requires special equipment however, so do not use it for very long unless you have good access!
