The Texas-Edition Silverado is a submodel of the Chevrolet Silverado and GMC Sierra lineup. The model is called the “esson” or “Texas Edition” because of its specific features.
The Texas Edition features a standard six-speed manual transmission, a five-speed manual only on models with an automatic. The six-speed automatic is available on all models, including the estenal.
The estenal has an enhanced body structure, called a Crew Cab, with an increased topline. These trucks are built in San Antonio, TX instead of Dearborn, MI like the standard Silverado and Sierra do.
This crew cab has more weight at the top, making it stronger and more costly to repair compared to a regular sized Silverado or Sierra. Because of this, it is only used on models with a automatic transmission.
