The House of Representatives, or simply “the house” for short, is the legislative body of the United States. It has two houses: the upper house, the Senate, and the lower house, the House of Representatives.

Speaker of the house
The speaker of the house is the chief leader of the House of Representatives. They lead meetings, answer questions, and make decisions as to how to move forward.
The speaker is usually a member of the same party as the House of Representatives. However, they can switch parties if their position as speaker becomes threatened.
As the leader of the House of Representatives, the speaker works hard to bring together members from all across the country to accomplish their goals. They also work with outside groups to help them communicate their message to voters.

Majority and minority leaders
The majority and minority leaders of the House of Representatives are called Speaker and Minority Leader, respectively. Both roles require special care and respect as they affect the work of their party.

As members of the US House of Representatives, your role is to govern for your district and the country as a whole. You do this by voting for legislation and signing it into law, signing it and reintroducing it at subsequent hearings, and voting when necessary to pass legislation.

If a company or organization is well-known, then the member of Congress will probably approve their products and services quickly. However, if an unknown company or organization has an opportunity to change things for the better in their community or nation, then that member of Congress might take their time to consider it.
Hold hearings about issues affecting society
The House of Representatives, also called the lower house of Congress, conducts hearings to study issues that affect society as a whole. These hearings are called legislation hearings and are typically held once per year at the annual State of the Union address or during other large events such as the inauguration of a president or when a new one is needed.
Hearings give committee members an opportunity to study issues and hear from people before making a decision on whether to sponsor a bill or not. Committee members use their experience at these hearings to get information about issues and people they may be interested in hosting testimony at their own hearing.
Sometimes, legislation may come out of a hearing but it does not go through committee before being passed into law. This is where very few bills pass into law because of lack of support from both sides of the aisle.
It is important for both sides of the aisle to support legislation that affects society as a whole since it can have an impact on people’s lives.
