When a word is translated dis-, it means down, away, or out of. When a word is pronounced dismayed, it means troubled or distressed in circumstances that are unfortunate or threatening.
Dis- and dismayed have different connotations that affect how you talk and write about something. When dis-or dismayed is applied to something negative, it implies that something is bad or disturbing.
When dis-or dismayed is applied to something positive, it implies that something is good or wrong. When there are no bad things or wrongs associated with a word, we use dis-or dismayed to indicate trouble or distress in circumstances that are unfortunate but not evil.

Unfulfilled
When a person or thing is not living the life that they should be living. For example, they are not working hard enough, spending too much money, or being neglectful of an area in life.
All of these things are bad and should not be happening to this person or item. They are being neglected of what they should be spending, how much they need to work hard for, and what they need in life.
In the Bible, there is a place that refers to what we call today disappointment. We call it bitter-sweetness. When something fails to meet our expectations, we feel some type of bitterness towards it. We feel disappointed but also some kind of joy because it wasn’t what we wanted it to be.
But the thing about the Bible is that it never misses a beat when something doesn’t meet expectations. It always finds a way to deliver things that people want.
Upset
When something upsets you, it’s time to read the Bible. The best time to read the Bible is while you’re on vacation, at a pastors conference, or during your everyday life.
The Bible contains many stories that tell us about God and his kingdom. Some of these stories are dramatic, like when Jesus came to Earth as a baby in a manger.
Other stories are more quiet, like the story of Adam and Eve being expelled from the Garden of Eden. Many people don’t remember these simple concepts being included in the story of creation, but they are!
By reading the Bible while on vacation, at a pastors conference, or during your everyday life, you will get some extra time to read.
Frustrated
Frustration is the middle word in the above bullet point. It comes after dismay and before anger.
Frustrated means feeling frustrated or experiencing difficulty in something. Its opposite is joy, which feels happier and more enjoyable than frustration.
Dismayed means being shocked or dismayed, which feels more unpleasant than frustrated or inability. Disappointed is a milder version of that.
The middle word of the two words below disappointed can be trouble or trouble . Both trouble and trouble are stronger than either disappointed or didn’t meet your expectations .
When things don’t go as you expected, there are many things that might be trouble. For instance, if you expected things to be cheap, but they were not, then you might have trouble with that. When something does not fit your expectations, that is his willhness. There is nothing you can do about it.
Being angry at people in God’s kingdom means being disappointed or bitter. It also means holding on to anger as if it would stay charged forever.
Sorrowful
Sorrowful is a tough word to translate into any language. Some find it emotionally draining, others do not understand how heavy it can be.
Sorrowful means filled with or characterized by sadness or deep distress. It can also be painful or mournful.
In the Bible, sorrowful words are used to describe sadness and distress. These words include mourn, weep, and sadly. All of these words connote heaviness or mourning, but differ in how they are expressed.
Weeping is a way people express sorrow, whereas “sorrowful” or “mournful” words are expressed in sadness only. Weeping and only weeping is not the same as sadness that only causes sorrowing only!
It is important to notice which ones of these concepts we are talking about and whether or not they are applicable to nouns, verbs, and/or adjectives. When they are applicable, then we talk about sadness that causes mourning.
Genesis 4:1-16
In the beginning, before man walked the earth, God created a group of people named the Adamites. They were very close to God and He blessed them with many years of good health and happiness.
However, one group of people—the women—was not given as much good healthsmanship as the men. This division between men and women was called sex-gender differentiation.
This was true even in heaven, where there were male and female judges. When it came time for someone to be judged, their wife wouldn’t come to judge with them. She’d go by herself!
This wasn’t just something that happened in stories or in church sermons; this was real life! In fact, when we look at archeological sites and ancient graves, we find that women were usually buried alone.
Genesis 6:5-22
When a creature encounters something it does not understand, it can get nervous or upset. This is called alarmance.
In the case of dismay, the creature is so overcome with emotion that it cannot understand what is happening or how to cope.
Dismayedness happens when a person is unable to deal with dismay or emotional upset. The person may cry, mourn, and/or complain about something. It can be very hard to read because you may feel bad for the person but also may not feel like they are understanding what they are supposed to be doing.
Sometimes there are medical reasons why someone isn’t able to Dismay or Re-Amay themselves. For example, people with anxiety or depression may not realize how bad things are until they are actually in a situation where they are dismayedly affected.
Psalm 37:1-40:11
This psalm is called the “Call of the Lord” because it describes a call to something greater. The author calls upon his readers to join him in a journey of discovery, repentance, and atonement for sin.
The term paired with “admonition” in this verse refers to a call to action, or what we would call a command or suggestion. In this case, the command is to go out and visit others, especially those who have suffered much.
He says that you must “dismayed” when you learn about these people’s tragedies, and he asks you to go out and visit them even if you are not religious. He says that by visiting them, you will be able to put your trust in the Lord and that you will be marked by his divine presence.
By going out into God’s world, we demonstrate our faithfulness oritude the Lord.
