A new addition to the Paragraph devoted entirely to audio interfaces, the Scarlett 2i4 HD is a 4-channel, 24-input high-definition audio interface. It can be used as a left and right speaker or subwoofer connection, making it very flexible.

The 2i4 HD is compatible with most major DAWs, including Ableton, Adobe Premiere Pro, Fadeout Pro Audio Premier, Sonar Platinum and Sound Forge. It can also be connected to a computer via USB or Firewire.

This device costs more than some other nixes this article makes due to being networked and having an RGB light feature. However, its higher quality sound and flexibility make it well worth the cost of admission.

Yamaha MG06X 4-Channel

The Yamaha MG06X is an affordable, 4-channel MIDI interface designed for music production. It features a 1/4-inch output, which can be connected to a synthesizer or sequencer to transmit data.

The MG06X supports controller mapping and has piano and sound generators mapped as keys. This makes it easy to create quickly without having to learn extensive mapping procedures.

Additionally, the 6-band graphic EQ can be programmed as a assignable button so that you do not have to look at the unit during setup. This makes the unit very easy to use as there are no initial instructions needed.

For its price, the Yamaha MG06X gives you plenty of features and comfortability.

The Tascam US-16X08 is a powered 8 analog 1/2″ interface. It features eight channel audio processing, two 1/2″ outputs, and USB connectivity. This interface can be used with any computer as a soundcard device through its USB connection.

This powered analog interface features a high-quality analog signal path with 50/60Hz internal clock, large room correction filter, and safe power output. It also has an RCA audio input and an RCA audio output for connectivity.

Connecting a CD player or audio system may require some knowledge of component compatibility. Some components such as speakers are round whereas CD players are rectangular! You will need to find out which ones connect with Pro Tools through the use of Component cables.
