Prayer For Elderly In Nursing Home

An elderly person is called an “oldtimer” or a “senior citizen”. These people are called “seniors” because they will be “seers” (they see things before they do) and “elders” (they have the ability to decide what medicine and care they need).

They can live for several years without much help. But with the proper care, this people can easily be happy and active for a few more months.

For example, eating regularly, doing exercises, learning new things, and maintaining address and conversation are all things that people can do without too much help. But with enough time and effort, these things can be done extremely well by those with enough energy!

This article is going to discuss some ways that someone in a nursing home can pray for their doctor or therapist to give them what they want in regard to medication or health care. It is also important to note that this prayer should be offered every day until the patient gets what they want.

Ask the person if they want you to pray for them

If the person says yes, then write the person a note asking them if they would like to accept your prayers

If the person says no, then write another note asking why

If the person says yes, then write an aging prayer for that person that includes their faith in God and in heaven

Ask your church or pastoral care provider at your church whether there is a tradition of elderly prayer or not. Many churches will permit it if it is asked with love.

Many elderly people find prayer very meaningful and enjoyable. If you can get people to talk about what you are asking for and why they ask for it, they may feel more comfortable accepting your prayers.

If you can make their faith in God and in heaven, yourself enough, that may help them feel better about their own health issues or those of others.

Make a plan for who you will ask to pray with you

You can make a list of people you would like to pray with and send them an email to let them know you want to pray with them. You can also ask the Lord for help in determining who to ask to prayer with.

Many times, the elderly person you are praying for is already acquainted with the person who will be caring for them in the nursing home. So, if you are asking for prayer for an elderly person who is going into a nursing home, then definitely look into whether or not they have been through a similar situation before.

If you are unsure of what someone needs, or if they have asked the Lord what they needed, then definitely try to find out what that may have been because it may be necessary for them in the future.

Keep your intentions humble

A humble intention is a word that begins with thank you and ends with giving thanks. A confident intention is to give thanks in hope that something or someone will thank you in return.

A confident intention can be written down or spoken, so it does not go by unnoticed. A confident prayer can be about anything, but the most important thing to pray about is keeping your balance while walking, standing, and walking some more.

Keeping your balance while walking can be tricky at times, sometimes even with a walker or 2Degree walker. Most of the time you just have to trust the chair or 2Degree walker will help you keep your balance.

Walking some more is another easy way to keep the balance. With a chair or 2Degree walker, you just have to learn how far you need to walk for each step.

Ask God to help the person

As a member of the church, you can ask God to help your loved ones in their time of need by praying for them. If you are the person aged between 60 and 80, then this article is for you.

Many people in your situation are living with limited quality of life and that is due to your prayers being heard. Many people in your situation have weak immune systems, making self-health measures like using a computer or walking to take care of themselves is accepted.

As a member of the church, you can visit your temple recommend office to add prayer for elderly on your personal prayer list. You can also write a letter to the temple recommend office asking for this privilege. You can also ask other members of the community if they have prayed for elderly in the local temple ward or by emailing tt@templeofnevada.

Ask God to bring healing

If your elderly loved one is suffering from a serious medical condition, ask God to give you and your family the faith to pray for him or her.

Many physicians will tell you that patients who are in the grips of serious medical conditions are harder to treat than others. They view these individuals as vulnerable and need our prayer for healing.

If your family member has a significant cognitive impairment, they may not know how bad their condition is. This can make it hard to determine whether or not a medication is working, if there’s an improvement with prayer.

It’s important to know that not every medication works for everyone, and that patients with cognitive impairments may not accurately understand what they are taking. This can lead to improper treatment or nonresponsive health care professionals.

Ask God to bring comfort

If your elderly loved one is in a nursing home, they may be living in a place that isn’t comfortable. There may be bugs, smoke, poor air quality, and other risk factors.

So you wish them peace and comfort? Then ask the Lord to send His Holy Spirit into their lives to comfort them.

Ask the staff at the home to pray for them. If the elders are alone, ask a neighbor or friend if they can help.

If both you and your neighbor or friend can’t make the prayer request, then join with others to send it. Send it together so everyone gets an answer from God!

Even if your family can’t go to the home frequently, keep asking God to bless those there with you.

Ask God to bring peace

Many elderly people find prayer a difficult task. He makes requests of them and they are at a loss as to what to ask for.

If you are an elderly person looking to pray for an aging relative, you should be prepared to answer God’s call. Most people will not be able to answer God’s call if they are not ready and prepared.

If your relative is mentally capable of answering your prayer, then by all means ask God if he or she is ready. Many times it does not matter if the person is mentally capable or not because what matters the most is being with Jesus and receiving His love and mercy.

Having a prayer request from a loved one that is far away can also lead to trouble. If you have problems with this, do not worry! The Bible says that we must use our abilities or our prayers for ourselves (1 Corinthians 14:1-4).

Ask God to bring an end to suffering

The presence of God in your daily life is marked by His commandments. He is the God of the universe and our heavenly Father loves us so much that He sent His only Son to live and die for us.

We can trust in Jesus to bring relief to our suffering, just as He promised through the Old Testament Law (see Ex 20:26).

But what if your suffering wasn’t due to a broken law but to something else? What if you were lying in a nursing home or hospice care, unable to do anything about it?

That’s a tough situation to be in, doesn’t matter how old you are. You might be thinking, “What can I do about this myself?”

The answer is simple: ask God for help. It may sound silly, but ask Him to give you strength if you need it.
