Penile ultrasound is a noninvasive method of assessing a man’s erect penis. Unlike with the traditional erect-erect penis Assessment (EEP) procedure, which requires a physician supervision, penile ultrasound is performed at the man’s own home or office.
Typically performed on a Friday or Saturday night, a penile ultrasound is typically done during sexual intercourse to assess if an orgasm was experienced. If it was, then the penetration was strong enough for an erection and penetration.
If not, then the man will know since his penis did not look thick or hard when he was aroused. This is because of psychological impact of such awareness. Many feel awkward or vulnerable to discuss their condition with another person due to such awareness.
This can be tough when there is no appropriate time for it! There are also physical effects that affect how someone feels about themselves but no longer has the need for this procedure.

Go to the doctor’s office
Penile Ultrasound is usually done in a doctor’s office, but can also be done at a nearby clinic. It is usually done on a Sunday or Authourity Day off.
The ultrasound technician will typically ask you to walk ahead with her so she can see where you are going. She will then use a handheld device to take the patient’s temperature and measure the Penile Blood Flow. This is because if the blood flow was decreased, then the temperature may be warmer!
Once she has this data she can use it to create an ultrasound image which looks like a donut or an “X” on your penis. This image can then be downloaded and used on her computer or smartphone to create the ultrasound Sonoma® file. This file can be emailed or posted directly to the patient!
This file can be used again if needed, as it does not differ much from one day to the next.
Get ready for an ultrasound of your penis
When the die is cast and you are ready to go, you will be asked to enter your name, gender, and age. This is done so the machine can prepare itself for you.
You will then be asked if you are already circumcised or not. If not, a circumcision preparation band will be placed on your penis to help it open up during the scan. After this, the scan can start.
It takes about five minutes for the scan to take place and come back online. Then, the doctor will look at what he sees and say if anything was noticed.
The doctor will apply a gel to your penis
When the doctor uses a penile ultrasound, he or she will place a clear gel on your penis. The doctor will then use a handheld ultrasound device to apply the gel onto your penis.
The doctor will place the device on your penis for about 10 to 15 minutes depending on the model. During this time, the doctor will monitor how well it responds to the gel using digital tools on his or her phone.
When the patient is calm, comfortable, and has a good understanding of what is happening, the doctor will insert one of their hands onto your penis and use a digital tool to scan it. This process may take several attempts because it takes some time for new sensations to register with you—you’ll have to remind yourself that it’s happening!
After this process is complete, the doctor will conclude that surgery is not required and give his or her opinion regarding whether or not surgery is needed.
Place your penis in the scanner
The ultrasound machine will measure your penis in several ways. Most important is how hard or soft you can be. This determines if the ultrasound machine can handle your penis.
Some devices require you to be harder or softer than the size of the device to work with it. The larger the device, the need for a smaller penis to fit inside it. This is true for penile ultrasonography machines as well!
To use the ultrasound machine on yourself, you must first lie on your back with your legs out in front of you and your knees pulled up. The ultrasound technician will then gently place a probe on your penis and slide thebandon it. You can then turn on the machine and see what effect it has on your body!
This process may take a few tries, but finally you are able to check how well it works on you.
