Chicken broth
Drinking a few cups of chicken broth every day can help your cat fight kidney infection. The protein in the broth helps repair his or her body from the infection.
In fact, a study conducted by researchers at Case Comprehensive Cats Care Center in Phoenix found that administering five to seven tablespoons of chicken broth per day is an effective treatment for kidney failure.
In this study, ten cats with end-stage kidney failure were taken care of. Five were given five to seven tablespoons of chicken broth per day and five were not. This difference was made to test whether the intervention could be maintained or not.
It was found that the bowl-fuls of chicken broth were kept up for five days and contained five full containers of water and five cans of food and drink alike. This showed that the team knew their cats needed the intervention and wanted to keep providing it.
On their fifth day, all ten cats received one can of food and water without being given any other change in environment or maintenance efforts.
Oral antibiotics
If your cat has a kidney infection, you may be able to keep up the antibiotics alone. However, if the infection is serious then medical treatment is needed. Even then, your cat can still get its kidney function back without treatment.
Fortunately, this happens very rarely. Most times, medical treatment is needed for cats with kidney infections.
So, how do you give your cat oral antibiotics? You put some Tetracycline in a small amount of warm water and give it every four to six hours. You also need to keep an eye on the kidneys to make sure they are taking the medication.
If you have to go out and want quick results then you can use tetracycline vaginal suppositories or tetracycline ointment. Both work better if applied early enough as opposed to after the Infection has gotten worse.
Pain medication
Your cat may be diagnosed with kidney infection. Most cats do not need a kidney infection diagnosis and treatment. However, if your cat has a higher temperature, is disoriented, or has a change in appetite, then it may beamara infected kidney.
Kidney infection can be hard to diagnose. It can happen when the cat is eating enough food or is warm to the touch. It also can happen if the cat is drinking enough water or lying on its side with a low temperature.

It may be difficult to gauge the extent of infection when the kidneys are not working well. Or even if they are working well, if they are small or short lived if an infection occurs.
