How To Organize Your Home In 30 Days

Organizing is an essential part of life, both before and after you get your new apartment organized. After you’ve completed the basics like setting up a closet space, organizing your shelves and organization systems, you’ll need to add more depth to your home.

More importantly, if you don’t yet have a home, then you’re missing out on a great place to live. Homeownership is a great way to socialize and develop relationships, so it’s worth the investment.

Home remodeling is never easy, which is why there are so many products out there. You have go-to places such as Walmart and Target that have major remodeling projects on display.

Create a cleaning schedule

This might seem like a basic concept, but always cleaning your home should be walked on a regular cleaning cycle. You need to wipe down surfaces to prevent dirt and debris from building up.Wiping down surfaces frequently is also helpful in the “on a scale of 1 to 10” sense.

At 1 you have things swept away, 2 you have items cleaned, and 3 you have finished. At 10, that’s all done.

You will get into trouble at high levels of cleanliness. When we were first getting ready to launch We Did It!, we didn’t realize this until we were at level 4 or 5 of housecleanings.

We quickly reduced our housecleanings from weekly to daily due to the increased speed of our cleaning schedules!

The 3-5 rule is also for clothing and cosmetic items. When we were getting ready to launch We Did It!, we didn’t know the 4-6 rule for laundry so we reduced our laundry times per person by that rule.

Create a organizing system

This is the most important step in the entire process. Without a system, your home will be thrown into a chaos that you can not handle. You will be grabbing everything you need and putting it in your car to go shopping, which is not good cpuunzation.

You will need to re-organize every item you own, because there will be too many things that you have and not enough place to put them. This will mess up your room and make it look unorganized and cheap.

When you go shopping, you should already be preparing for this. You should be grabbing the best supplies for your room at any given time while at the store.

Use visual reminders

Set a reminder to organize your home for 30 days. This allows time to look over your home and make changes that need to be made.

It also gives you time to get rid of old stuff and start new projects. Once you have done this, you will be in a great position to organize your home!
As you start the30 day layout, create visual reminders of items, places, etc. in your home. For example, a chart on your wall with labeled books and toys, or an extensive list of items on hand.

This will help you keep track of what you have and how much you have! When looking over your home, think how much stuff you need to organize.

Clean up clutter

In 30 days, you can do a lot for your home. Here are some tips to help you get started.

Get rid of old pictures, videotapes, and DVDs that don’t have a place. You can purchase or make new wardrobes and stores to donate or re-use them.

Trash and/or organize rooms by what is inside them and what is outside. If you have a large backyard that houses severalou sowse soweds a foundation for your home-library, poolside area, etc.

Incorporate more narrow halls to create more space and break up the extra weight of stuff.

Don’t let items sit on the floor for too long

When you buy things at the store, make sure they are safe to store before you move. If you see cutters, bumpers, and other safety tools attached, then those items should be safe to store.

If you have children or jewelry ornaments, keep them separated by size so nothing gets lost. If you have large furniture that needs a place to go, try renting a double-occupancy room- this will help save money on rent.

Try keeping pieces of jewelry separate- only wear the ones you would feel safe wearing with your own hand. Keep track of how many times each piece is worn and buy new ones when those are worn out.

Don’t let things pile up- it will just cost more money in the long run.

Identify what needs to be organized

Once you determine what needs to be organized, it is important to identify what information needs to be organized. Does my cell phone need to be in its case? Does my laptop need to be out of its bag?

In an office environment, there should be paperwork for projects, paperwork for organizations, and paperwork for customer correspondence. Each of these has a different categorization and access.

In the home, there are supplies that need to be organized, including books and clothing items that may not be used often but may have special occasions planned. Of course, the most important item here is yourself!

Find the right container or place for items

Once you have your home organized, it is time to find the right container or place for items. By this, I mean finding a place to put your books, toys, and other possessions.
