Sirius XM is a premium audio company that specializes in music. Their radios feature built-in speakers and/or a home stereo connection. You can connect your Sirius radio to your stereo via an included cable, and use the radio as if it were sitting on a flat surface.
This is great for listening to music, because you can adjust the radio volume by varying the strength of your audio. You can also connect an iPod or other mp3 player, so you can listen to music while watching television or gaming.
Some radios have an auxiliary port that can be plugged into a sound card on your computer or phone. Using this port, you can connect an external hard drive or CD player so you can listen to some material while watching television or playing video games.

Buy a converter for stereo output
If you’re going to connect your Sirius radio to a standard stereo, you need a converter. A converter will change the radio’s audio format to audio for a stereo.
This allows you to hear the radio through your headphones or speakers, and it gives you the freedom to adjust the volume as desired.
Many radio tuners today have a set of options for converting audio formats. Most of these are proprietary and cannot be changed, however.
If your radio does not have any special features, there is still a way to hook it up! Buy an adapter that will let you connect it to another device via wire– or wireless- transmission. This is called a transmitter and receiver.
Buy a stereo cable
If you are already listening to radio on your radio device, then you can skip this part. If you do not have a radio broadcast receiver, then you must purchase a stereo cable.
If you do not have a stereo cable, then you can still try this trick. While radios with color coded headphone jacks and/or connectable speakers are common, not all radios have that capability. Some have to be connected to a headphones or connectable speaker!
If you do not have a headphones or connectable speaker, then you must buy one! Most selling stereo cables are around $2-3 apiece, making this an inexpensive hook up for any avid listener. These will also help determine if your residence is in an area with good signal strength as the cable will determine what channel the radio is broadcasting on.
Connect the Sirius converter box to the stereo receiver or speaker box
After you have installed the Sirius converter box, you next need to connect it to the stereo receiver or speaker box counterpart. This can be tricky if you have a merged signal due to your stereo receiver or speaker system.
If your receiver or speaker system has a crossover, then it can be used to connect the radio and loudspeaker boxes. If not, then you must use an RCA cable for connection.
The best way to connect the radio is using a six-to-eight-foot (2½ to 3yds) length of shielded cable with a tip tight fitting and no loose connections. The same goes for the loudspeaker system – use a tight fit ofь an eight-to-ten foot (3 to 3½yds) length of shielded cable with no other connections made.
Both ends of the cable should be tested and confirmed as working before any extension cords are connected.
Plug in the Sirius radio receiver box
Once your receiver is connected, you can start listening to radio!
You will need to enter your credentials for Sirius radio. These are the same as your satellite radio account, except we are changing the frequency.
Your phone will need to be connected to the same WiFi network as your receiver. You can test this by trying to go online with your browser but no luck? Go into your settings and turn off internet access!
Once this is done, you can listen to all of your favorite shows! Try some stations in different rooms first and see if they work or not. Some people find that putting them in a blind slot works better than an ordinary antenna does.
Set up your account and start listening to music!
Now that your Sirius radio is connected to your stereo, you can start listening to your music. You will need a media player or device that can play audio files.
The best way to get these files into your player is via USB cable!
Some devices do not support all audio formats so you will need to convert the audio file using a media player app on your device. Once this is done, plug in the radio and listen!
