1. Make your own ice chest by securing two insulated bags together and stuffing it inside a metal or plastic container. Then, wrap the two sides with heavy kitchen towels or material to prevent it from being lightened by heat.
2. Make your own waterproof thermal bag by taking an old towel and putting hot water on it to steamify it. Then, fold the top over and put something heavy in there to prevent heat escape.

Use modified home made techniques
Use a garden hose to cool off your hands and feet while you’re walking or cleaning up the yard. It’s also possible to use a washer or sump pump to do the same.
Wealthy countries like Australia and New Zealand have walk-in coolers located outside, so it is not entirely out of the question. A washer & pump would require a large window in the house for winter storage, though.
To save money, you can purchase a walk in cooler made out of acrylic instead of plastic. The glass would need to be thick enough to hold liquid inside, but not thick enough to prevent entry of air.
If we want our walk in cooler to last longer, we can use an evaporative cooling system such as ice chest covers or water bottles placed inside to reduce contact with hot surfaces.

Consider climate conditions
If you are unprepared for low temperatures or harsh conditions, you can protect yourself and your family from these conditions. You can also be prepared for these conditions in winter!
To be able to refer to this in winter, you would need to have your cooling system operational. A walk in cooler is one of the best ways to do this. These are easy to make and can be modified into a wet or dry system.
Wet systems have water added to a cooled container, usually a refrigerator or freezer box. The idea is that if the temperature falls, the water keeps the temperature below freezing so that something cold is inside of it.
Use a commercial refrigerator
If you have the budget, you can use a commercial refrigerator as your ice chest. These are typically larger than a kitchen refrigerator and freezer, which makes them suitable as cooler.

To use liquid nitrogen, you must be able to control its temperature. This means having special equipment or using a well-insulated dishpan filled with Liquid Nitrogen.
