Gear S2 Watch Battery Life

The gear s2 watch has a low battery charge indicator that displays when the watch is low on battery. This indicates when you should take a quick break or leave the device running for the next alert.

This is a welcome feature as it gives you time to recharge the device before another alert or break is needed. Once this happens, you will be able to stay engaged longer thanks to this energy.

The problem most people run into is that the watch must be active for at least an hour before it can be recharged. This can be problematic if you have to leave the watch on for a long time before needing to recharge.

There are two ways to get your watch back up and running. The first is to purchase a $9 replacement charger and use that on it. The second is to install the Android app dubbed Recharge which allows you to plug in your device and keep it active until next need.

Only use the essentials

You will also want to make sure you do not use too much of the device’s battery. Your Gear S2 will indicate when the device has been on for a long time, but it does not take into account how long you will be using it.

The device uses a limited charge mode that reduces the screen resolution and makes the device slow,This can be problematic when trying to do quick things such as checking your messages or notifications without taking up full attention of the app.

While the limited charge mode does help save some battery life, having only essential apps loaded and ready to go will help save even more off battery life.

Change watch faces

Changing faces is a fun way to test out new styles. There are so many watch faces available that it is hard to choose one for yourself. Many are very beautiful and functional.

If you wanted to add another feature or wore your watch on your wrist most of the time, the S2 Watch would not be too difficult to purchase as a standalone device.

Many apps and services are available for the S2 Watch, making it a fully functional device until you want to add on another face or need an emergency alert.

As always, listen to your body and if you feel the time is complete for a change of day or time. Most of the time when people switch times during Daylight Savings Time, they feel more refreshed and get more done faster.

Turn off heart rate monitoring

When it comes to tracking your athletic performance, tracking your heart rate is a crucial feature. Many running apps require this for optimal running tracking functionality.

However, if you want heart rate monitoring without the Gear S2 Watch, you have some options. You can purchase a dedicated heart rate monitor device such as the Nike+ Heart Rate Kit, or you can look into using a step monitor such as the Apple Health Step Monitor or Amazon’s EWQoL® Heart Rate Monitor.

Both of these devices track your physical performance independently of the Gear S2 Watch.

Do not use as a phone replacement

The Gear S2 is not intended to be used as a phone replacement. You will need to have a smartphone or mobile device in order to use the Watch as a secondary device.

The main reason that the Watch has no battery life feature is due to the fact that it is not intended to be used as a phone replacement. Unlike the larger phones, which have their always-on features, such as email and messaging, the small screen and limited functions of the Watch make it unable to replace your mobile device.

However, due to its unique nature as a mobile device, such features can still add-on. For example, I installed an app that allows me to make and receive calls on my wrist via bluetooth technology.

Limit using the GPS feature

When the GPS feature is active, you should limit how long you use the watch’s GPS for. The more active the GPS mode is, the more time it will use on your watch.

How long you should use the GPS feature depends on how far you have to travel and whether you need the GPS for that travel or not. In general, if you need the GPS for outdoor activities or if your watch has poor weather tracking capability, then it is better to disable it.

For most people, three days of daily use is enough to get a good charge out of the watch. For outdoor activities that can take up some time such as hiking or skiing, we suggest using one of the smaller sizes of)+).+1/2) that we discuss in this article.

Limit listening to music on your watch

When you are not actively listening to music on your watch, the device will limit itself to only audio mode. This can be problematic if you are listening to music while doing other things, like walking around or swimming.

We know this is frustrating, but there are ways to get music on your watch. You can use the bundled Music app or Sosale’s own Soundtrack app, for instance.

Use the louder of the two apps to enable music on your watch. Once you do that, open it and click on ‘Set Up Music’ to start playing music. You can also use the microphone in your phone if you have it!

Use as little data as possible while watching TV or movies on your watch because the app will require some data traffic away from your normal usage.

Avoid using the bright screen mode

In dim or dark conditions, the brightness of the Gear S2 Watch’s screen must be reduced. The display uses light to determine where you are and send notifications!

Using the bright screen mode when the device is not charging will result in you having to turn up the notifications volume higher to hear everything that is happening. This can be annoying if you are trying to sleep!

When using the watch on a nightstand, keep an eye out for it every few days to see if it has charged enough to hold a charge. If it has been inactive for a month, it may be time to replace it.

Many times manufacturers replace devices if they are three years or older.

Switch off always on display mode

When the Gear S2 is not connected to a phone or computer, it stays in a low power mode that displays the time and notifications. This mode is always on display mode so you can see how long the device has been on battery level.

This is great for checking how long you have left to use the device!

By default, it is switched off when not being used, however you can change this behaviour.

You can do this by going to your gear app then selecting your settings. Then clicking on display management and finally setting it to off or none if you do not want it.
