A body boot camp is a modified exercise program that utilizes an emphasis on movement. Instead of long,jingled exercises, boot camp techniques are emphasized on movements with varying levels of intensity.

Typically, boot camp moves are performed on the floor or on carpet. These movements can be quick or take more time as the practitioner progresses. The practitioner may also use a step to assist in movement or to increase support.

The support can be group or personalized. There is no set leader and there is no set time spent in this mode. It is just the more portable version of the basic workout that includes walking, easy exercises and harder ones.

What makes this mode of exercise different? Rather than focusing on specific muscle groups, the focus is on moving your body around in general. During this mode, you are only allowed limited sitting, lying, and standing positions. You are encouraged to work your legs, back, and arm coverage.

Most boot camps offer a limited range of exercises. There may be barre, yoga, and boxing classes, but no trainer. At least not on this boot camp!

Unlike some programs, where you have to waste your time learning only one type of exercise, the trainer can teach several. This is great!

As a result, boot campers get more variety in their workouts and are more prepared for class. The trainer can also add new exercises or introduce new types of exercise if necessary.

Many times at the beginning of training, the body is busy getting ready for class and generally doesn’t do a very good job of preparing. With so much time spent on preparation during class, people are able to feel successful when they arrive at class.

Training can be done in many different ways. A basic way is to schedule workouts around practice sessions. You pick which training sessions you will have during the week and Monday through Friday you will go out and practice your favorite exercises with the hope that it makes me feel better during practice sessions.

You can go to the gym or a fitness facility any Sunday or Monday from 10am to 12pm! There are many ways to get into a workout, so don’t be afraid to mix it up. Some people prefer doing only their own workouts, while others like having other things like instruction or participation.

Heres a new boot camp class to try! Cicero Fit Body is a fun, low-impact class that focuses on your whole body. You will work on your own but with other members of the group.

This is a non-stop, full-body workout that you do for about an hour. Your coordinator will tell you what exercises you will do, but you can add or take away movements as you feel.

You can choose between barre or circuit training, so you can find a style that works for you. You also get individual feedback and cheers from your instructor during the class, which is nice.
